The Williams Sonoma Store Smell DIY Review

I love to shop in Williams Sonoma but I have to confess, I never noticed any particularly yummy smell before.  Lately a Pinterest recipe to DIY it has been going around, so I gave it a shot.

What you need according to the original recipe

1 cup of water (to start- if you leave this on for a long period of time you'll need to add more)
1 lemon, sliced thin
2 fresh sprigs of rosemary
1 teaspoon of vanilla

Add it all to a pot and let it simmer.

After 90 minutes, we could smell it faintly, but the mixture was looking pretty bad.

I tossed it.  I wasn't impressed.

However...we had something in the dehydrator overnight that was an utter recipe failure and melted the dehydrator.  I decided to try this again to see if at least it could get the smell out.

I made some changes this time:

1 cup of water
1 lemon, sliced thin, HOWVER, take 2 pieces and squeeze the juice into the water before throwing those two slices in
2 fresh sprigs of rosemary, each one snapped in half
3 teaspoons of vanilla extract

I heated to a boil and then reduced to a simmer.

My whole house smells DELICIOUS.
